The Bachelor’s Club of Oklahoma City was founded by a group of young gentlemen in 1938, who gathered around the once northern portion of OKC on 23rd Street. Bachelor’s Club was formed as a counterpart to the then prestigious ladies club known as the French Heels. With the help of some of Oklahoma’s finest, Mr. James McEldowney and Mr. G. Scaling “Buddy” Corbyn assembled an organization that would promote the social and philanthropic events and advance the leadership within our great city. Our first Annual Christmas Ball was held that same year in the infamous Skirvin Tower Hotel.
Ever since then, the Bachelor’s Club of Oklahoma City sought to find and inspire local individuals to forward the qualities of respectful society. As our premier fund-raising event, our Annual Christmas Debutant Ball showcases the wonderful young luminaries of Oklahoma City, who will one day be active participants in our community.
As an IRS registered Non-Profit Organization, the Bachelor’s Club has in recent years raised and donated over a quarter-million dollars to local charities.
Today, we are expanding our vision to incorporate everyone that shares our appreciation for such qualities of life the as fine arts, community involvement, social gatherings, and much more. As a registered Patron, citizens of Oklahoma will be able to receive newsletters of prominent up-coming events and functions, reserved only for Bachelor’s Club Members and Patrons. Many of our impending events will be to raise money for various charities or causes, so please keep your check books handy.
